With just a few hours left in 2017, I have decided to do a life detox. All of us may feel like we have lived our best life up until this point, but I am sure that there is a small piece of us that believes ending an old year stepping into a new one with a clean slate is refreshing. The need to detoxify my life before 2018 hits is a result of feeling overwhelmed, emotionally disturbed, and obligated to please everyone with no intention of pleasing myself. I don’ want to walk into 2018 resenting myself and others for things that couldn’t be controlled or things that were simply designed to make my life a mess. For 2018 I am choosing positivity. I am eliminating any and everyone who lies to me, disespects me, uses me, puts me down, and drains my energy. I love myself too much to allow toxic people to sit in my happiness while praying for my failure in private. I am choosing to step away from reality when needed to give my mind a break. Whether it is listening to music or taking a personal day from work, I will have my “me” time. Next year for me will be a year for my heart desires. I am going to pay close attention to my spiritual needs and praise God through any circumstance that may approach. Bring it on 2018, I’m ready!
